STAR Procurement (STAR) is a collaborative procurement shared service serving six partners across Greater Manchester and Liverpool City Region. Initially founded in 2014 by three pioneering partners, it has expanded to six partners, now encompassing Knowsley, Rochdale, St. Helens, Stockport, Tameside, and Trafford Councils. This growth reflects our commitment to enhancing procurement efficiency and fostering strong partnerships across the region.

Role:

To build on STAR’s success so far and to develop it further, the STAR Board are looking for a new Director of Procurement to lead the organisation. As the Director, you will be responsible for overall management of the STAR procurement service, supporting it’s partner organisations, chief officer and Members to deliver their corporate priorities including Social Value.

Duties will include; Strategic leadership and management of STAR Deliver tangible outcomes and improvements in line with the STAR Business Plan Lead innovation, improvement and change Lead commercial operations, developing strategies for new income/growth opportunities consistently
