Job Description

Event Director – Flagship B2B Tech Tradeshow/Festival

London (Hybrid – 3 days/week)

£90,000 + up to 40% bonus + benefits

Own and grow a market-leading tech expo. We are hiring a proven Event Director to take the reins of a high-profile, large-scale tradeshow across sectors such as AI, Cloud, Cyber Security and Telco.

Why this role?

  • Lead the evolution from “BAU tradeshow” to a best-in-class tech experience that drives measurable value for exhibitors and attendees.
  • Own the P&L and the growth levers: new sectors, features, revenue streams, audiences, and partnerships.
  • Shape the end-to-end customer journey, from pre-event matchmaking and on-site activations to post-event conversion to enhance rebook, yield, NPS and audience growth.

What you’ll lead

  • Commercial & growth ownership: Set and deliver the value-creation plan; test new revenue/audience initiatives pre-event, iterate on-site, and scale post-event.
  • Sales leadership: Day-to-day accountability for sales performance (with a dotted-line team of c.5), pipeline strategy, pricing, yield, and key account development.
  • Product & experience: Work hand-in-glove with production to build high-impact features (demo zones, curated meetings, startup programmes, CX touchpoints) that go beyond booth-only.
  • Cross-functional orchestration: Partner closely with Marketing, Ops and Content to align proposition, audience strategy, and delivery.
  • Team leadership: Direct line management of the Head of Production (with two reports) and senior influence across sales/marketing/ops.

What success looks like in 12 months

  • Revenue and audience growth above plan, with improved rebook % and average yield.
  • 1–2 new sectors/features launched and monetised.
  • Measurable uplift in NPS / CSAT and exhibitor ROI.
  • A clear pathway to scale the proposition across adjacent tech verticals.

You’ll bring

  • Sales-first Event Director (or senior ED) track record on large-scale tradeshows/exhibitions (not just conferences), ideally in tech-adjacent domains.
  • Demonstrable P&L ownership (£multi-m) with a history of hitting/exceeding growth targets.
  • Comfort leading commercial teams and partnering with production/marketing/ops to deliver a cohesive product.
  • A builder’s mindset: strategic, data-driven, and hands-on, with the credibility to influence senior stakeholders and energise teams.
  • Passion for client experience, you think like a product owner and a revenue leader in equal measure.

About the organiser
