This senior leadership role is suited to a driven, passionate individual with an established network and prior success in opportunity generation and sales.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Business Development: Established networks/relationships across key sectors. Leverage networks to identify, pursue, and convert opportunities, such as proposal development, contribution to additional sales, and production of thought leadership.
- Engagement Delivery: Lead and own the delivery of Risk Consulting engagements (e.g., risk management, internal audit, UK Corporate Reform, SOX 404, controls transformation) ensuring projects are effective, exceed client expectations and identify sell-on work.
- Agility: Balance sales activity with engagement management and self-starting capabilities.
- Trusted Advisor: Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, guiding on regulations (e.g., UK Corporate Reform, US SOX, Global Internal Audit Standards) and how they impact internal controls and reporting obligations.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding needs and delivering tailored solutions.
- Process & Controls Leadership: Lead across process and controls solutions, developing and nurturing talent and fostering a positive team culture.
- Solution Development: Develop new solutions and enhance existing offerings related to risk and control strategies, policies and governance.
- Quality & Risk Management: Demonstrate compliance with quality and risk management principles.
- Business Acumen: Understand the broader business context, including financial, operational, compliance and strategic aspects.
- Learning & Development: Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development for yourself and the team.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with internal and client teams to drive integrated risk management solutions.
- Team Mentorship: Mentor and develop a team of Risk professionals, supporting their growth and contributing to a positive team environment.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, technology growth and risk best practices.
- Performance Excellence: Monitor engagement metrics and KPIs, proactively addressing deviations to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Communication: Communicate effectively, adapt style as needed, and maintain strong relationships.

Skills and Experience
- Industry Expertise: Industry-leading expertise in risk, processes and controls with agility across solutions and sectors.
- Business Development: Success in leveraging networks to identify and convert opportunities, including proposals and thought leadership.
- Relationships: Experience building relationships with C-suite executives and discussing complex risk solutions confidently.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of UK Corporate Reform and US SOX compliance and guidance for clients on regulatory impacts.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication and presentation skills for executive reporting and stakeholder engagement.
- Leadership: Ability to inspire, develop and motivate teams and promote collaboration.
- Ethical Standards: Strong ethics and integrity, ensuring compliance with standards.
- Proactive Learning: Self-starter with commitment to continuous learning and growth.
- Adaptability: Navigate changing regulatory environments and emerging risks.
- Audit & Accounting Experience: External audit and financial accounting experience to support strong control frameworks.
- Systems Expertise: Experience with core systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) to identify control weaknesses and improvements.
- Transformation & Digital Solutions: Experience driving transformation and deploying digital solutions.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience leading risk, process and control services at large, complex organisations.
- Relevant professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent).
- Experience delivering risk, process and controls solutions such as risk management, internal audit, controls transformation, SOX 404.
- Experience enabling regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., UK Corporate Reform, SOX, and other industry-specific requirements).
