We have been retained by a leading pan-European real estate finance provider as they build out their Portfolio Management, Recoveries and Restructuring departments to support recent territorial expansion.

As such, we are seeking a Director of Restructuring & Recoveries to oversee borrower relationships, drive strategic decisions, and lead risk mitigation efforts within a diverse loan portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain trust-based relationships with borrowers, acting as the primary contact for all loan-related matters.
• Collaborate with portfolio management teams to assess credit risk and maintain portfolio quality.
• Ensure robust, up-to-date risk management systems aligned with industry best practices.
• Provide expertise in financial modelling, risk assessment, and credit reporting.
• Conduct case reviews, identify exit strategies, and report recovery plans to senior management.
• Assess asset-level NPV and loan loss provisioning potential.
• Lead recovery strategies for defaulted or high-risk cases, working closely with senior recoveries leadership.
• Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes, integrating best practices into portfolio management.

About You:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
• 10+ years’ experience in portfolio management, with a strong focus on borrower relationships and risk management.
• Minimum 5 years in restructuring and recoveries roles within a lender or advisory environment.
• Deep knowledge of loan monitoring, risk management, and financial analysis.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills at all levels.
• Proven track record in managing complex borrower relationships and executing loan agreements.
• Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and risk mitigation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and advanced loan management systems.
