The Senior Commercial Strategist will provide leadership, mentoring, and professional development to a team of commercial strategists, focusing on creating innovative pricing and commercial solutions that maximise client value and Deloitte\'s profitability.
This role will be instrumental in winning complex deals and shaping our commercial strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Innovative Commercial Solutions: Working across our most high profile and complex deals in the portfolio, create tailored, innovative pricing and commercial solutions for bids and proposals, demonstrating exceptional value to clients and enhancing Deloitte\'s margins.
- Cross Border Collaboration: Collaborate effectively across service lines and member firms within Deloitte on complex deals, ensuring a balance between deliverability, winnability, and profitability.
- Complex Deal Economics: Demonstrate a deep understanding of multi-year deal economics, including risk and reward levers, cost of capital, amortisation, and other relevant financial modelling techniques.
- Support Delivery Profitability: Ensure seamless transition from deal creation through to delivery, in order to protect the profitability of complex projects by proactively managing contractual and commercial risks.
- Service Line Governance: Lead service line commercially focused governance processes, using strong understanding of Partnership model to effectively influence and collaborate to deliver the right commercial outcomes.
- Deal Coaching: Educate and guide senior staff and Partners on optimal commercial deal structuring and negotiation strategies, ensuring alignment with firm-wide financial objectives.
- Negotiation Planning: Provide expert negotiation support and coaching to Partners on complex commercial arrangements, including account-level framework agreements and specific bids/opportunities.
- Lead and Mentor a Team: Lead, train, and develop a high-performing team of commercial experts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Knowledge Sharing & Best Practice: Contribute to the development of commercial expertise across the firm through knowledge sharing, guidance, and the implementation of best practices.

Desirable skills and experience would include the following:
- Proven experience in developing and negotiating complex commercial arrangements in a professional services environment.
- Deep understanding of multi-year deal economics, including risk and reward levers, cost of capital, and amortisation.
- Exhibit exceptional commercial acumen, identifying and leveraging innovative contractual and commercial deal levers to maximise value and profitability.
- Strong understanding of contractual and commercial risk management in complex delivery environments.
- Experience of working with procurement functions to delivery good outcomes.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and coach teams, including senior staff and Partners.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within a partnership model.

Personal independence
Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your Immediate Family Members are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
