Disclosures External Reporting Director (AVP) Level - Director at Morgan Stanley. The role reports to a Vice President within the Glasgow team and is responsible for European statistical reporting. Outside of the production cycle, the role will contribute to projects such as implementing evolving regulatory requirements and production process improvements.
In the Finance division, this role partners with business units globally to provide management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm’s financial and capital resources. This is a Director-level position within the Corporate Controllers Reporting & Accounting job family, responsible for the accuracy and control of the Firm’s books and records to produce consolidated firm, segment and legal entity financial statements, including development, management and oversight of financial accounting & reporting systems and database management, including capital and liquidity reporting and external reporting functions.

What You’ll Do In The Role
- Collaborate with colleagues in Finance and across the Firm
- Lead aspects of individual and team deliverables and projects, leveraging deep knowledge of the Finance function, product and/or client segments
- Adhere to the Firm’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls; proactively identify ways to reduce risk
- Act as a culture carrier, embody the Firm’s values and hold yourself and others to Firm standards
- Prepare and review Regulatory Balance Sheet disclosures
- Review commentary and analysis to support disclosures
- Oversee the production process within the Disclosures statistical reporting team, ensuring delivery against production timetables
- Troubleshoot data issues during quarterly production with effective communication and escalation
- Respond to review questions on disclosures produced
- Present disclosures and analytics to Finance Senior Management
What You’ll Bring To The Role
- In-depth knowledge of the Finance functional area, product and/or client segment and related technical skills; awareness of industry and competitive environment
- Ability to operate independently with respect to most responsibilities
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and drive process improvements
- Excellent communication skills, including effective and timely escalation
- Risk awareness and escalation mindset
- Self-motivation, initiative and problem-solving abilities
- At least 4 years of relevant experience
