Freelance Programmatic Account Director


London / Hybrid

£370 p/d

️ 2 month initial, scope to extend


We’re looking for a freelance Programmatic Account Director to support a leading agency team on key client accounts. This role is ideal for someone who’s confident leading client relationships, driving programmatic strategy, and overseeing activation across display, video, and other programmatic channels.


The Role:


  • Lead programmatic strategy, planning and execution across multiple accounts.
  • Act as the key client contact, translating business objectives into effective programmatic campaigns.
  • Oversee day-to-day delivery with programmatic managers/execs, ensuring campaigns meet KPIs and client expectations.
  • Collaborate with planners, data, and creative teams to deliver integrated digital strategies.
  • Provide clear guidance on testing frameworks, optimisation, and innovation in programmatic.
  • Support reporting, insights, and performance reviews with senior stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior team members and ensure best practice across all campaigns.


About You:

  • 5+ years’ experience in programmatic / display, ideally agency side.
  • Strong background in client-facing roles with experience presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Hands-on understanding of DSPs (DV360, The Trade Desk, Amazon DSP or similar).
  • Track record of leading teams and delivering programmatic campaigns that drive measurable impact.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with multiple stakeholders.
