Divisional Medical Director Roles (2 roles available)
As part of the redesign of our clinical divisions we are seeking to appoint to our two Divisional Medical Director roles. These are pivotal leadership roles within the new divisional senior management structure, working closely with the Divisional Director of Operations, Divisional Directors of Nursing & AHPs/Director of Midwifery and other divisional colleagues to ensure we provide safe, caring, effective and seamless services. Alongside ensuring we deliver excellent patient care, you will also be accountable for the delivery of finance and performance, service modernisation and overall governance within the Division, working with staff from a range of professions, along with being supported by 2 Deputy Divisional Medical Directors, and a number of Clinical Directors.
The 4 PAs for this role will be built into job plans. Appointment to the roles will be on the basis of a 3 year term, with the ability for this to be extended for a further 3 years.
Individuals who are currently undertaking the DMD role, those who have previously undertaken the role, and any individuals who have not yet undertaken these roles are all welcome to apply.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The Divisional Medical Director is a key member of the Trust’s senior management team and will contribute to strategic thinking and decision making processes, with an overriding requirement to act in the corporate interest of the Trust and its patients. It is mandatory for them to attend the monthly Trust Sub committees including Quality & Safety and other sub-committees as appropriate.
The Divisional Medical Director will chair meetings of the Division, working closely with the Divisional Director of Performance, Divisional Directors of Nursing and other members of the Divisional Management Team.
The Divisional Medical Director will work closely with the Executive Medical Director/ Responsible Officer in dealing with matters associated with the performance, competence and behaviours of medical staff in accordance with the Trust’s policy on managing professional standards.
