Our client is recognised as one of London’s leading independently owned practices in sustainable building services.With 25 years of demonstrated expertise and consistent performance across commercial, residential, PBSA and various other sectors, the business is built around deep technical knowledge, practical and sustainable MEP design, and commercially viable solutions.With headquarters in Central London, and technical support in offices overseas, our client prides itself on being a small, tight-knit, boutique-style business, supported by a team of specialist engineers.The RoleAs Electrical Associate Director, you will play a key leadership role within the business, delivering high-quality electrical design across a range of Private Sector projects.You will work closely with the MEP design teams, clients and architects to develop innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.The role combines hands-on technical involvement with strategic responsibility, including mentoring and developing team members, ensuring project quality and contributing to the growth and reputation of the electrical division and the wider business.You will also act as a key point of contact for clients and collaborators, helping to strengthen relationships and drive successful project outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesEnhance existing relationships with clients and design teams.Active, hands-on project design whilst being responsible for quality, client service and project delivery on time.Enhance a culture of unity within the office by fostering openness and collaboration, encouraging your team members to share their skills and support collective developmentProvide technical expertise through design reviews and act as a source of information for others.Seek to build the company’s capability, developing reputation and company profile within the industry.Contribute to the long-term success of the company, the growth of the electrical team.Working under the direction of the Board of Directors, support the delivery of electrical systems design documentation and outputs, including but not limited to:Assessment of Design solutionsProduction of Design SketchesPerformance of Design Calculations and system sizing using company approved methods and software – Trimble, Dialux and Excel Based planning toolsAnalysis of system optionsTechnical research as necessarySite surveys and inspectionsProduction of reports as necessaryCo-ordination with other internal engineers, CAD/BIM operators and administration staffLiaise and coordinate with other external design disciplinesAttendance at meetings as necessaryMaintaining personal CPD programmeEnsuring that all your work is audited by one of your colleaguesActively develop and mentor colleagues, ensuring knowledge is shared effectively and the company’s quality goals are metIdeal Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will be an experienced and outgoing Electrical Associate Director with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in Building Services EngineeringThey will be able to think beyond their own discipline, bringing a collaborative mindset and a proven ability to deliver alongside architects, clients and multidisciplinary teams.A strong technical background in Electrical Design is essential, with the ability to present innovative and sustainable engineering solutions across the Private Sector - Commercial, High-end Residential and Student Accommodation projects.Candidates will demonstrate excellent communication skills, proven client engagement skills and a track record of leading projects from concept through to deliver - ensuring quality, budget and time frames are consistently met. They will also possess strong leadership and mentoring qualities, contributing to the growth and development of the electrical team and the wider business.Suitable Candidates Will Have:At least 10 years’ experience in electrical building services design.Chartered Engineer (CEng) status (or working towards it)Proven experience delivering Private Sector projects, including Commercial Offices, Residential, Industrial, Retail and Mixed-Use Developments.Strong design skills with proven use of industry-standard design and analysis software – Trimble and Dialux.Project leadership and client-facing experience, including the ability to manage multidisciplinary coordination.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.A collaborative, problem-solving mindset with the ability to innovate and think strategically.Experience contributing to business development, bids and client presentations.Knowledge of cutting-edge sustainable design practices and emerging technologies.Previous experience mentoring and developing junior engineers.Project management qualifications or formal training (Desirable but not Essential)A strong industry profile or established client network in London. #J-18808-Ljbffr
