Join to apply for the Energy Engineering Director role at EQUANS. Equans is a renowned energies & services contractor and a Bouygues group company. The Energy Engineering Director will lead the in-house design and engineering team and drive growth, delivering resilient, low carbon power solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership to the design and engineering team, fostering comradery, motivation, loyalty and productivity.
  • Mentor engineers, develop a centre of excellence culture, and provide technical guidance across projects.
  • Represent the business with external stakeholders, including clients, suppliers and industry bodies.
  • Manage resources and budgets across multiple design projects to achieve time, cost and quality outcomes.
  • Oversee use of external specialist consultants and a growing supply-chain.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts, legislation, standards and codes.
  • Lead design and development processes from RIBA stages up to construction support, coordinating interfaces with sales, construction, SHEQ, procurement, commercial and legal teams.
  • Provide strategic direction for growth, communicating new technologies and markets, and supporting the transition to opportunities in energy transition.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors or Masters in relevant engineering, accredited by Engineering Council
  • Chartered status or membership in CIBSE, IMechE, IET (or equivalent)
  • Mechanical and electrical building services and infrastructure design
  • Experience with statutory processes (planning, building control, etc.)
  • Knowledge of design codes and standards (CIBSE, BSRIA, IMechE, IEEE, RIBA)
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, REVIT, IES VE
  • Experience with measurement and verification, complex multi-disciplinary projects
  • CDM Principal Designer duties
