Responsibilities
- Lead the client engagement strategy, identifying and engaging key stakeholders to ensure the successful closure of an integrated product offering.
- Collaborate with solution architects to develop bespoke integrated product offerings aligned to asset journey and client requirements.
- Use Business Insights to understand market landscape for given assets and ensure Syneos Health strategy integrates relevant practice areas to add value.
- Analyze industry activity and develop an annual business plan for market segments and assigned accounts; participate in sales planning with forecasting and strategic objectives; review and update the plan quarterly and adjust monthly as needed.
- Develop a strong, reliable pipeline of work and maximize utilization of internal resources and tools.
- Develop account strategies for appropriate clients; anticipate client challenges and partner with operations to provide solutions per Company policies.
- Provide strategic direction and customer insights into proposal development, leveraging internal stakeholders to influence bids, pricing and deal structure.
- Expand customer accounts by leveraging long-term relationships, identifying client needs, and accelerating business opportunities; act as an intermediary between customer and technical/operational teams.
- Maintain high visibility within the customer organization and monitor satisfaction through regular communication.
- Maintain up-to-date records in CRM (Salesforce) for assigned accounts, including profiles, contacts, opportunities and communications.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and operating models to provide value-added expanded services to clients.
- Leverage sales training and marketing resources to understand differentiated value and drive touchpoints with key influencers.
- Provide updates to Management and Strategic Business Development on new activities, leads and opportunities; participate in professional meetings as appropriate.
- Actively participate in professional meetings and conventions as appropriate.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in a science-related field or equivalent education/experience.
- 10–12 years of related experience including 5+ years in business development within the industry, with at least 3 years in Clinical Trials; strong knowledge of Pharma industry is required.
- Strong scientific foundation with extensive clinical development experience; expert knowledge of sponsor–CRO partnerships, governance, and milestones/performance indicators.
- Proven strategic thinker with track record of expanding accounts and accelerating business opportunities.
- Strong relationship-building, interpersonal, and strategic communication skills.
- Ability to solve complex challenges and drive growth through strategic initiatives and execution.
- Experience with Business Operations including Proposals, Contracts, Finance, Governance and Budgets.
- Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills; collaborative with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong motivational and influencing skills; proficient in MS Office and Google applications.
- Up to 30% travel for meetings and conferences as needed.
- Experience with CRM (Salesforce) and English language proficiency (verbal and written).
