A confidential client is seeking a highly experienced and design-literate Executive Director – Transport to lead the planning, design management, and delivery of major transport facilities within a landmark development project.


This role will be responsible for a portfolio of complex, multi-modal transport-related assets, including interchanges, stations, terminals, and supporting public infrastructure that are central to the mobility network and citywide customer experience. These hubs will play a pivotal role as both transport nodes and civic destinations.


Operating at both strategic and delivery levels, the Executive Director will guide architectural and engineering integration, lead multi-disciplinary teams, and ensure coordinated, timely, and high-quality execution. The role will oversee project governance, champion a collaborative delivery culture, and connect design vision with technical implementation.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead delivery of station and interchange infrastructure from feasibility through to handover.
  • Advise leadership on project phasing, priorities, and readiness.
  • Align transport infrastructure with land use, access needs, and visitation patterns.
  • Balance design quality with technical performance, accessibility, and flow.
  • Coordinate approvals with government and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Embed customer experience throughout planning, design, and operations.
  • Ensure connectivity across all modes, including rail, metro, road, and active transport.
  • Integrate transport assets into masterplans with strong spatial, functional, and urban alignment.
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams across all project stages.
  • Oversee program-level cost, risk, schedule, quality, and safety.
  • Plan phased delivery and interim solutions to match district development timelines.
  • Set design standards, procurement approaches, and technical governance.


Required Qualifications and Experience:


  • Degree in Architecture (preferred) or Engineering; postgraduate qualifications desirable.
  • Ability to align visionary design outcomes with technical and operational feasibility.
  • At least 18 years of experience delivering large-scale, complex transport infrastructure projects.
  • Proven leadership in multidisciplinary environments involving both civic design and technical delivery.
  • Skilled communicator across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities, including interface with government and regulators.
  • Track record of delivering public transport interchanges, metro or rail stations with integrated public domain.
