Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight across all housing services.
• Engage with local residents and champion tenants’ voices.
• Inspire colleagues and develop relationships with partners to meet residents’ needs.
• Tackle homelessness, deliver innovative investment in high‑quality temporary accommodation, and implement preventative approaches in housing‑needs services.
• Develop and implement a clear strategy to address the housing crisis, improve oversight of the private‑rental sector, and meet compliance and safety obligations, including responding promptly to the C3 regulatory judgement.
• Create an environment that speeds housing development, working with private developers and the council’s arms‑length development company.
• Collaborate with social care to deliver new supported housing solutions for vulnerable households and help families remain in stable homes.
• Shape neighbourhoods and public spaces, fostering communities that can thrive.
• Transform housing services, inspire a culture of innovation, and embed equity and equality as foundational principles.
