Overview

A global luxury retail brand is seeking a Finance Director on a contract basis for an initial 3 months. The Finance Director will lead the Finance function and also oversee the HR and Shipping & Logistics functions. This is a hands-on role requiring a strategic thinker with strong operational discipline, a passion for process improvement, and commercial acumen. The successful candidate will lead a small, high-performing team and partner with senior management to drive financial performance, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Run the finance function for the group
• Manage the HR function for the group
• Manage Shipping & Logistics for the group
• Lead, manage and develop all direct reports in the above functions
• Partner with the CEO and other senior stakeholders to ensure the group achieves its strategic objectives
• Ensure accurate and timely internal financial reporting
• Prepare statutory financial statements for all entities in the group and ensure submission by required deadlines
• Manage relationships with external auditors and prepare audit packs
• Manage all direct and indirect tax for the group
• Responsible for cash forecasting and working capital management to support business needs, including stock planning
• Prepare annual budget
• Ensure sufficient insurance coverage across all business risks
• Maintain robust financial controls, systems, and policies
• Manage the transactional team and oversee sales ledger, purchase ledger, payroll, cash posting and all general ledger entries
• Oversee the rollout of continuous system improvements
• Other ad-hoc tasks to support business needs

Desired Skills and Experience

• Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
• Luxury Goods retail experience is a plus but not essential
• Experience in leading, motivating and developing finance functions
• Strong passion for systems and process improvements
• Excellent Excel skills

Role Details

This role is hybrid with 4 days expected in the Central London office. Salary is up to 95K equivalent; FTC or day rate may be considered. Immediate start.
