Robert Half is partnering with a leading international distribution group to appoint a Finance Director.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an accomplished finance professional to take responsibility for all financial activities across Europe. The position will be based in the UK with some travel across Europe and to the US and offers significant scope to shape strategy, drive performance, and lead change within a complex, fast-growing business.

The Role

As Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role in setting the financial agenda for the region. Working closely with group leadership, you will take ownership of financial planning, performance management, and governance, while also acting as a commercial partner to the operational teams. The role requires someone able to balance technical rigour with strategic influence, building a finance function that supports growth and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and delivering the financial strategy for the region in line with group objectives
  • Driving the budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting process
  • Providing clear analysis and insight to support senior leadership in key commercial decisions
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory, tax, and reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions
  • Managing cash flow, working capital, and cross-border financial processes
  • Leading and developing a high-performing regional finance team
  • Playing a key role in integration projects, transformation, and business change initiatives

    • The Candidate

    We are seeking an internationally minded finance leader who combines strong technical expertise with proven commercial acumen. The right person will bring gravitas, credibility, and the ability to influence at both board and operational level.

    You will bring:

  • Extensive experience in senior finance leadership, ideally gained in a regional or multi-country role
  • A background in distribution, supply chain, or other international, multi-entity businesses
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on leadership
  • Strong people leadership skills, with a track record of building effective teams across borders
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Flexibility to travel across the region when required
