Director, Project Finance

Base to £150,000 plus bonus and benefits

My client is a PE-backed professional services company with revenues in excess of £150 million. They are looking for a new Director of Project Finance to be responsible for the full life cycle financial oversight of projects, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and forecasting, as well as tracking delivery-related staff and non-staff costs in order to perform month-end close processes. You will work closely with business and finance leaders to identify and implement financial strategies to drive business growth and operational efficiency Main duties include

  • Partner with project delivery teams and other project related functions within the business to meet, drive and achieve the company's goals and objectives.
  • Lead the accounting aspects of revenue recognition (IFRS15) and the month-end close process:
  • Collaborate with project delivery leaders to ensure financial processes align with business objectives.
  • Develop and oversee action plans to drive improved project contribution. Key focus areas include (i) project pricing & budgets, (ii) employee utilisation, (iii) staff assignments & capacity management, and (iv) project overruns.
  • Drive continuous improvement throughout the project life cycle financial processes by partnering with project delivery leaders to identify opportunities for efficiency gains and implement best practices.
  • Build effective working relationships with the wider finance and business teams to facilitate shared learning and support. Foster a culture of collaboration and open communication to ensure alignment between financial and business objectives.

    • To be considered for this high-profile Director level role, you should be a qualified accountant (min 10 years PQE), a background in professional services, detailed knowledge of IFRS/GAAP specifically in relation to revenue recognition, the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
