Overview
Finance Director opportunity for a fast-paced, high-growth PE-backed group scaling quickly. Our client is a leading services business providing critical support to UK industry. Following investment, the organisation is growing through acquisition and organic expansion, with an expectation to double in size in the next 5 years. An ambitious Finance Leader is sought to drive growth and performance in the largest market.
Location note: the role is based in Glasgow with travel to other bases in the UK expected to be around 30% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 20+ people and manage a business of approximately £150m, operating in environments of similar scale and complexity.
- Partner with operational directors, providing challenge to drive value from overheads and improve margin on the bottom line through effective organisational structure.
- Develop the capability to influence and anticipate issues in a complex operating environment; identify risks early and react proactively to problems.
- Act as a true business partner to the divisional managing director, understanding cash flow from contracts to the balance sheet and how it moves through the organisation.
- Shape, develop and grow the finance function to support future growth, identifying where change is required to support the evolving organisation.
- Maintain high visibility as a leader in a changing, fast-paced business with a national footprint.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Technically strong and commercially driven with experience across multiple commercial environments and high-pressure, fast-paced settings.
- Proven track record in leading finance teams and partnering with senior operational leadership.
- Experience in organisations of similar scale (£150m+) and complexity.
