This is a classic SME Finance Director opportunity — broad, hands-on, and strategically influential. You will lead and develop the finance team, manage complex stock and working capital, oversee the banking relationship and provide insightful reporting to support the Board. We are retained exclusively to appoint a Finance Director for a long-established, family-owned Group with a proud heritage and an ambitious outlook. The business operates across multiple markets, with complex manufacturing and international supply chains. They are well-positioned for their next chapter of consolidation and growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance team, manage complex stock and working capital, and oversee the banking relationship.
• Provide insightful reporting to support the Board and contribute to strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with operations to drive value and provide both support and constructive challenge.

Qualifications and experience

• Proven Finance Director experience in a complex SME or privately-owned group.
• Strong cash flow, stock, and working capital expertise.
• Experience in ABL financing and foreign currency management.
• A hands-on and inclusive mindset and approach to leadership.
• The ability to build relationships across operations and provide both support and constructive challenge.
