An established construction contractor is seeking an experienced Financial Controller / Finance Director with a strong background in the construction sector to lead and manage the finance function.

This is a senior, hands-on role suited to a commercially focused finance professional who can support strategic decision-making while maintaining robust financial controls.

The Role

Lead and manage the day-to-day finance function.

*

Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

*

Manage cashflow, working capital, and cost control.

*

Prepare monthly management accounts and year-end accounts.

*

Provide commercial support to operational and senior management teams.

*

Oversee payroll, CIS, VAT, and statutory compliance.

*

Develop and improve financial systems, controls, and processes.

*

Support business planning and growth strategies.

About You

*

Proven experience in a Financial Controller or Finance Director role within the construction industry.

*

Strong knowledge of construction accounting, job costing, and cashflow management.

*

Professionally qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or qualified by experience.

*

Commercially astute with strong analytical skills.

*

Confident communicator able to work with operational and senior stakeholders.

*

Detail-oriented, proactive, and hands-on.
