Overview

Sitting within the Financial Institutions (\'FI\') Sector, the EMEA Fund Finance (\'FF\') team is part of a global business responsible for the origination and structuring of primarily lending transactions to funds managed by European financial sponsors and asset managers. The FF EMEA team is now looking to hire a Director into the team to support continued growth of the business as it looks to deliver on growth targets, drive product expansion into NAV financing and support wider ING sponsor relationships. The role will sit within the EMEA Sectors team, which is made up of experienced fund finance professionals focused on relationship management, origination and structuring of transactions. Responsibilities

  • Lead Origination and Execution: Manage fund finance transactions as the Deal Principal.
  • Structuring and Pricing: Work with the Transaction Management team on execution and documentation negotiation.
  • Identify opportunities to drive client value, enhance ING\'s lead bank proposition and increase ESG-related lending volumes.
  • Sponsor Relationships: Maintain and develop senior-level sponsor relationships, delivering comprehensive banking solutions.
  • Originate all manner of fund financing products, including capital call facilities and structured lending from NAV to hybrid solutions.
  • Mentoring: Develop team members\' product expertise and technical skills.
  • Industry Knowledge: Maintain high professional standards in fund finance industry and products.
  • Essential: Fluent English (written and verbal), degree-level education.
  • Desirable: Relevant professional qualifications (CFA, CIMA), broader language skills.
  • Experience/Knowledge:
  • Essential:
  • 10+ years in Funds Finance industry, 2+ years at Director level.
  • Proven track record in originating and executing subscription and NAV fund finance transactions.
  • Experience in structuring and negotiating transactions.
  • Client-facing and relationship management experience in sponsor coverage.
  • Exposure to ancillary products for funds (hedging instruments, cash management, depositary services).
  • Teamwork and mentoring experience.
  • Established network within the financial sponsor and fund finance sector.
  • Desirable:
  • Experience leading fund finance transactions in an arranger/agency capacity.
  • Private Credit NAV / ABL Finance
  • Distribution/syndication track record in a bank.
  • Technical understanding of capital relief instruments (SRTs, external ratings).
  • In-depth understanding of the regulatory environment affecting Fund Finance.

The FF EMEA team aims to hire a Director to support growth targets, NAV financing expansion, and sponsor relationships. The role sits in the EMEA Sectors team, focused on relationship management, origination, and structuring of transactions.
