Role Purpose
The Global BD Director leads the sales team within their sector, driving growth strategies to meet revenue targets. They execute the business development plan aligned with Ricardo’s strategic goals, focusing on planning, leadership, client relationships, and collaboration across business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the sales team, including direct reports, marketing, and stakeholders.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet targets.
- Lead, motivate, and mentor the sales team.
- Set quotas, forecast, manage leads, and drive order intake.
- Identify market gaps and communicate insights to enhance value propositions.
- Differentiate Ricardo’s offerings and grow the pipeline.
- Maintain market knowledge and share insights for strategic actions.
- Represent Ricardo at industry events and support marketing efforts.
- Ensure timely reporting, CRM updates, and understand their importance.
- Travel as needed to support growth.
Key Competencies and Experience
- Proven experience in business development with a track record of achieving sales targets.
- Strong business and commercial skills, including financial understanding.
- Ownership and accountability with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Established network in the relevant sector.
- Effective leadership, communication, and professional demeanor.
- Strategic thinking, negotiation skills, and team-building experience.
- Ability to multi-task, analyze, and handle confidential information.
- Master’s degree in engineering or business is a plus.
