OverviewGlobal Workplace Director role at Abcam. The Global Workplace Director is responsible for the oversight of real estate projects, facilities management, site engineering / automation and lab support across Abcam. The role involves strategic planning, operational efficiency, and ensuring optimal work environments across all locations.This position reports to the VP of Global Workplace and Global Logistics and is part of the Operations and Supply Chain Leadership Team. This is an on-site role, with global travel up to 20%. The role will be based on-site in Cambridge, UK, or Waltham, MA. At Abcam, our vision is to be the most influential life sciences company for researchers worldwide.In this role, you will join a team that emphasizes belonging and continuous improvement to turn ideas into impact – innovating at the speed of life.In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity ToApply stewardship of all real estate activity, working with the corporate Danaher CRE teamCoordinate all global site change/improvement projectsLine manage regional and senior FM leadersProvide leadership across sustainability, BCMS, and EHS programsDrive global workplace objectives and change programs across the estateDeliver technical leadership across the Workplace and lab support functionBudget management for CAPEX and OPEX across all locationsThe Essential Requirements Of The Job Include5+ years of experience in managing complex facilities within a regulated environment (e.g., GMP, FDA, MHRA, HTA)Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with direct experience interfacing with engineering, real estate, or project management, and/or corporate real estate5+ years in a senior management role across laboratory/pharmaceutical facilities (multi-site) or other operational role with relevant experienceDemonstrated experience managing a diverse team including facilities, project management, transactional real estate, sustainability, outsourced service provision, and engineeringTravel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environmental RequirementsAbility to travel up to 20-25% as needed, 1-2 weeks per quarter, US, EMEA, APACDesirable Experience2+ years of experience working cross-regionally on projects or programs with a global teamJoin our winning team today.
