The East of England Primary Care School, part of the Workforce, Training and Education Directorate of NHS England, is seeking enthusiastic and innovative educators to join as GP Training Programme Directors.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join NHS England and make an impact working with Resident Doctors in GP training. The successful applicant will collaborate with colleagues to deliver education and training to GP Resident Doctors in the Southend Training Programme.
The successful candidate will provide professional educational support to all postgraduate clinical learners in primary and community care within the local programme. The team of GP programme directors will share overall responsibility for providing educational support to the service.
The NHS England Board has set out the top-level purpose for the new organisation: to lead NHS in England to deliver high-quality services for all. This purpose guides the detailed design work and aims to achieve the following objectives:
- Enabling local systems and providers to improve the health of their populations and reduce health inequalities.
- Making the NHS a great place to work, where staff can make a difference and achieve their potential.
- Working collaboratively to ensure the healthcare workforce has the right knowledge, skills, values, and behaviours to deliver accessible, compassionate care.
- Optimising the use of digital technology, research, and innovation.
- Delivering value for money.

If successful at interview, we will run an Inter Authority Transfer (IAT) in the Electronic Staff Record system (ESR). This transfer gathers information from a previous or current NHS employer to support onboarding, including statutory and mandatory competency status, Continuous Service Dates (CSD), and annual leave entitlement.
