Group Finance Director – Multi-Site Manufacturing Group

Carter Rolan Group are seeking an accomplished Group Finance Director to lead and shape the financial strategy for a diverse group of manufacturing businesses. This is a pivotal role that combines strategic oversight with operational responsibility, ensuring the Group’s finances are robust, compliant, and aligned with long-term growth objectives. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to the executive team, providing insight and guidance across all divisions while driving financial performance and operational efficiency.

The role requires a proactive, hands-on leader capable of managing complex multi-site operations, integrating financial governance across the Group, and delivering timely, accurate reporting to support critical business decisions. You will play a key role in managing relationships with lenders, investors, and other stakeholders, ensuring the Group’s financial health and stability. Additionally, the position will support the Group’s international expansion plans and oversee property and asset investment strategies, adding value across multiple business streams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Group’s finance function, providing strategic direction and operational oversight across all divisions.
  • Ensure robust financial governance, compliance, and risk management processes are in place.
  • Deliver high-quality, accurate reporting, including management accounts, forecasts, and strategic financial analysis.
  • Partner with operational leaders to optimize cost structures, investment decisions, and capital allocation.
  • Manage lender and investor relationships, overseeing complex financing arrangements and capital structures.
  • Drive finance transformation initiatives, streamlining processes and implementing best practice systems.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development for a high-performing finance team across multiple sites.
  • Support strategic initiatives, including international expansion and property investment, to maximize shareholder and stakeholder value.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be an experienced senior finance leader with a proven track record in complex, multi-site manufacturing environments. They will combine technical mastery of accounting, treasury, taxation, and M&A with strong commercial acumen and strategic insight. Experience leading large teams, driving finance process improvements, and managing cross-functional business partnering is essential. Previous exposure to property investment, asset financing, or international operations would be highly advantageous.
