Role Overview

We have partnered with a leading global asset manager looking to hire a Head of Investment Advisory to lead their UK-based cross-asset investment advisory platform. Based in London, this is a senior leadership role within a high-performing team, responsible for overseeing all advisory activities for UHNW and institutional clients across the UK.

The firm has experienced strong momentum, including a 15% increase in net profit in 2024 and a major acquisition that has significantly expanded its AUM. The advisory platform is regarded as best-in-class, offering tailored investment strategies and direct client engagement across a wide range of asset classes.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role for an experienced and confident investment professional who thrives in markets and is passionate about delivering high-conviction, cross-asset trade ideas. The successful candidate will lead a team of senior advisors, including recent hires, while remaining deeply embedded in daily client interaction and strategic investment delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Oversight: Lead and manage the UK advisory team, overseeing all advisory activities and ensuring the delivery of exceptional service and investment ideas across asset classes.
• Multi-Asset Investment Advisory: Provide high-quality, actionable investment recommendations across fixed income, equities, FX, precious metals, structured products, and hedge fund strategies.
• Client Engagement: Act as the senior point of contact for a select group of sophisticated UHNW and institutional clients, delivering tailored investment advice and maintaining high-touch relationships.
• Market Coverage: Stay deeply involved in market developments, idea generation, and portfolio positioning. Maintain strong conviction in market views and act as a sparring partner for clients.
• Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with senior management including the UK CEO, the global advisory leadership team, and key investment professionals across the business.
• Execution Oversight: Oversee the Priority Access Desk (execution desk for large clients), with awareness of its role in supporting discretionary-to-advisory transitions and execution quality.
• Platform Development: Contribute to the continued growth and development of the advisory business, including mandate design and identifying opportunities across FX, alternatives, and structured products.
• Internal Leadership: Mentor and support junior and senior advisors, including new joiners, fostering a culture of proactive idea sharing and market excellence.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 12+ years' experience in cross-asset or fixed income advisory, trading, or portfolio management on the buy-side or sell-side.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to lead a team while remaining hands-on with clients and markets.
• Deep product knowledge across fixed income, equities, FX, structured products, and precious metals. Derivatives experience is highly advantageous.
• Track record of delivering sophisticated, high-conviction investment advice to UHNW and institutional clients.
• Strong interpersonal skills with gravitas, conviction, and an ability to engage with senior clients and internal stakeholders confidently and assertively.
