Overview

A vacancy at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) for Head of Nursing, Trafford site and Trafford Elective Surgical HUB (TESH). We are seeking an exceptional senior nurse to join the leadership team at the Trafford Elective Hub and to be the senior nurse based on the Trafford site, reporting professionally into the Director of Nursing and working closely with the TESH director and clinical director.

About the Role

As Head of Nursing, you will be a key member of the hub’s leadership team alongside clinical and operational leads. You will report to the clinical lead and provide nursing leadership to the hub and the Trafford site, alongside a professional line into the WTWA director of nursing. This role leads the transformation of elective care pathways, drives cultural change, and delivers a service that is innovative, efficient, and patient-centred.

About You

You will bring significant senior nursing experience within a complex healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside the TESH director and clinical head to provide strong leadership across TESH and Trafford hospital
  • Act as a highly visible leader of the nursing/AHP workforce
  • Support the director of nursing/deputy director of nursing by providing professional leadership to the nursing and AHP workforce
  • Take a lead role for TESH and work closely with the WTWA divisional teams on nursing professional issues, quality, patient experience and safety
