WHO YOU ARE
You are an effective communicator, with an in-depth, technical knowledge and tactical experience of health economics and payer evidence (including techniques and tools such as clinical trial design and analyses, systematic literature reviews, comparative effectiveness/indirect comparisons and health economic modelling), and its application to pharmaceutical development throughout the development process. You will have some launch experience (either at a global or local level), with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently, understand and apply different technical approaches, and have wide understanding of different health technology assessment (HTA) approaches, as well as significant experience in payer evidence development and delivery in the pharmaceutical industry.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- High quality health economics and payer evidence input in to pharmaceutical development projects, payer evidence plans, and market access & pricing strategies
- Proactively and independently contribute to project planning processes and help predict and resolve issues that affect market access decisions
- Detailed strategic and tactical planning of payer evidence (including clinical trial design and analysis, economic modelling, systematic reviews, and comparative effectiveness including indirect treatment comparisons) to support market access and reimbursement for assigned projects
- As a member of a team, delivery of health economics and payer evidence related activities, and contribute to or lead work streams
- Represent health economics and payer evidence in interactions with cross-functional team members at a project level, including input to clinical trial and programme design, patient reported outcomes (PROs) and real-world evidence (RWE) to support payers’ needs
- As required, represent the payer perspective in labelling and regulatory activities
- Deliver clear, customer-focused and robust Global Reimbursement Dossiers (GRDs)
- Application of expert quantitative skills to support value demonstration and commercialization of products including through HTA
- Provide expert quantitative thinking to support interpretation and decision-making processes
- Network with colleagues and experts, providing consultancy in own area of expertise and serving as a resource for others by sharing experience within and beyond project team and the Global market access and pricing teams
- Collaborate with marketing companies/local affiliates in preparing evidence that satisfies their local payer requirements
- Generate peer reviewed scientific publications, as well as effective communication of complex ideas for use with both payers and other stakeholders
- Prepare proposal requests for outsourced health economics / payer evidence projects and manage the vendor selection process
- Deliver assigned projects to time, budget, and quality, including the management of vendors as required
- Participate in external health economics and payer evidence departmental activities via technical presentations, committee membership, publication reviews, and other similar activities
- Actively monitor and apply new analytical techniques and payer evidence trends
- Interact with HTA authorities and advisors/key external experts in preparing materials for scientific advice or reimbursement submissions
Essential requirements
- Graduate degree in health economics, HTA or a related quantitative discipline.
- Oncology therapy area experience.
- Local or global launch experience, having worked at a senior level within a health economic consultancy or several years in a pharmaceutical company (either at a marketing company/local affiliate or global level).
- Effective communication skills to different audiences, including both scientific and commercial.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently, understand and apply different technical approaches, and have wide understanding of different HTA systems.
Desirable attributes:
- Post graduate degree in health economics or a related quantitative discipline, and work experience in the discipline.
- Global payer launch experience and global payer evidence development experience.
- Substantial therapy area experience for the role.
- Can demonstrate an in depth and practical understanding of innovative study methodologies, including analyses, that incorporates clinical, medical, regulatory, commercial, payer and health technology assessment needs.
