Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive Executive Package
Bonus: 15%

Sizewell C is a nationally significant nuclear new build project that will play a critical role in the UK’s energy future. The Civil Works Programme, valued at £9bn, forms the foundation of the first six years of construction and beyond.
We are seeking a dynamic and accomplished Infrastructure Director to join our senior leadership team, leading major infrastructure packages including Enabling & Earthworks, Marine & Tunnelling, and Permanent Roads & Networks.
The Opportunity
As Infrastructure Director, reporting to the Civil Works Programme Director, you will be responsible for delivering complex, high-value infrastructure elements. Your role involves strategic leadership across engineering, procurement, and construction, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and cost commitments are met.
This high-impact role offers the chance to work with government stakeholders, international partners, and a broad supply chain to shape the UK’s clean energy future.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide client leadership across infrastructure packages, aligning with SZC’s safety and strategic goals.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams from design to commissioning.
- Oversee performance of delivery partners, ensuring safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Interface with UK Government, regulators, supply chain leaders, and alliance partners.
- Manage assurance, change control, governance, and performance monitoring.
- Coordinate programme hold points and manage regulatory and technical interfaces, including nuclear safety.
- Foster a high-performing team culture emphasizing safety, delivery, and collaboration.
What We’re Looking For
- Experienced infrastructure or major projects leader with a track record in delivering complex, high-value programmes, preferably in regulated sectors.
- Significant leadership experience in major infrastructure or civil engineering projects, ideally in nuclear or energy sectors.
- Deep understanding of governance, assurance, and lifecycle delivery in complex environments.
- Proven stakeholder engagement skills, including with government and regulators.
- Commercial and contractual acumen for leading multi-partner delivery.
- Degree in engineering, construction, or related discipline; chartership or professional status preferred.
