Interim Assistant Director of Finance required to join an evolving Local Authority at an exciting period for a 6-to-9-month assignment. As the Interim Assistant Director of Finance you will work closely with the Director of finance to ensure the key deliverables of the organisation are met:

Key responsibilities of the Interim Assistant Director of Finance:

It is essential that you have a track record of delivering at this level within a Local Authority setting Lead budget setting, monitoring, and closure processes for the Combined Authority's General Budgets and provide oversight of and coordination of financial processes Provide strategic financial advice to senior leadership, elected members, and external stakeholders. Ensure robust year-end accounting processes and oversee the preparation, publication, and audit of annual financial statements Liaise with internal audit, and external regulators to ensure transparency and accountabilityEssential experience of the Interim Assistant Director of Finance:

CCAB/CIMA qualified accountant Local Authority experience (Essential) Proven experience in public sector finance leadership
