About the Role

Manchester City Council is seeking an experienced and dynamic Interim Deputy Director of Adult Services to provide strategic leadership across our high-performing Adult Social Care service. This senior leadership role will deputise for the Executive Director of Adult Social Services and play a key part in shaping the future of health and social care in the city.

You will join a committed leadership team working in partnership with the Manchester Local Care Organisation (MLCO) and NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care Board to deliver transformation, improve outcomes, and champion strengths-based, person-centred practice.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and direction for Adult Social Care (ASC) services, in line with the Care Act 2014. Lead on strategic and operational commissioning, ensuring sufficient market capacity, quality, and sustainability. Drive transformation programmes to improve outcomes, manage demand, and enhance integration with health services. Oversee robust budget management, performance frameworks, and governance processes.
