Starfish Search are supporting a national charity to appoint an Interim Director of People. This is a pivotal leadership role, shaping and delivering the People and Culture Strategy to ensure the organisation has the talent, culture, and capabilities to deliver lasting impact.

The Role

As Interim Director of People, you will:

• Lead the People and Culture Strategy, aligning it with organisational goals and transformation.
• Guide and inspire the People Team, by working towards new target operating models.
• Champion wellbeing, inclusion, and safeguarding, ensuring colleagues feel safe, valued, and supported.
• Drive progressive approaches to talent, development, and retention, strengthening the employer brand.
• Lead on complex people change, including restructures, employee relations, union engagement, and new target operating models.
• Act as a trusted partner to the Executive Team and Board, influencing strategy and shaping organisational culture.

About You

You will bring:

• Significant senior HR/People leadership experience in complex organisations.
• A proven track record of delivering people strategies that drive cultural and organisational change.
• Strong expertise in change management, organisational design, employee relations, and employment law.
• Experience embedding inclusive, people-centred policies and AgileHR practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with credibility at Executive and Board level.
• MCIPD (or equivalent).

This is a 12-month interim contract, offering a salary of circa £95,000. The role is hybrid, based in London, with an anticipated start date in mid-September.
