OverviewINTERIM Supply Chain & Operations DirectorParkinson | Lee Executive Search are working with a high-performing, UK-based engineering/manufacturing business with an annual turnover in the mid-to-high hundreds of millions, known for its innovation and reliability in critical industrial solutions.The Opportunity: The Supply Chain Operations Director will lead and develop the Operations function across a multi-site organisation, with accountability for Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and EHS. This is a hands-on leadership role, combining strategic oversight with day-to-day operational delivery. The focus is on strengthening operational resilience, embedding Continuous Improvement, and ensuring excellence across S&OP, supply chain, and production.Key ResponsibilitiesDrive operational performance across multi-site operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of products and servicesStrengthen and optimise the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to balance demand and supply, improve delivery reliability, and enhance cost performanceLead the full supply chain function, including procurement, planning, logistics, inventory, and contract manufacturing, focusing on resilience, efficiency, and cost-effectivenessChampion Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives and Operational Excellence to simplify processes, reduce waste, and drive measurable business impactProvide visible, hands-on leadership, embedding a culture of accountability, high performance, and team developmentManage supplier and partner relationships to secure continuity, quality, and value for moneyEstablish and monitor KPIs, using data-driven insights to inform decision-making and drive performanceSupport strategic operational alignment initiatives to underpin growth and scaleThe Person & MUST Have'sProven experience leading multi-site manufacturing or engineering operations, with demonstrable success in supply chain, production, and quality improvementAssembly Manufacturing Experience - Automation, Electrical Equipment, Machinery, Mechanical Equipment, Special Purpose MachinerySupply Chain Leadership experience with Operations in Quality and H&SStrong operational and commercial acumen, with experience linking metrics to business performanceSkilled in performance management, team development, and leadership of cross-functional teams in complex environmentsExperienced in CI/Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and embedding operational excellence in culture and processesStrategic thinker with a hands-on, problem-solving approach, resilient under pressure, and capable of navigating ambiguityWhat Is On OfferWhy This Role MattersThis is a rare opportunity to make a tangible impact on a growing business with ambitious plans.
