Salary: £95,338-£105,328 (Pay award pending)

Are you ready to lead one of the most significant reforms in local government? Nottingham City Council is looking for a bold, innovative and highly strategic leader to take on the pivotal role of Programme Director for Local Government Reorganisation (LGR).

Your Mission
As the senior lead for the Council’s role in Local Government Reorganisation, you will:
Drive the vision for local government reorganisation in the context of Nottingham City Council
Engage powerfully with councillors, MHCLG, local authorities, and key stakeholders including neighbouring councils
Lead strategic analysis to define what’s best for our residents and communities
Oversee delivery of a complex, high-impact transformation programme from start to finish
Champion inclusive consultation, keeping residents and partners informed every step of the way
Deputise for the Chief Executive when required, providing continuity in senior leadership
What You Bring to the Table
We’re seeking a visionary leader and change-maker who can thrive in a high-profile, high-impact environment. You will have:
✅ Proven experience leading major change in large, complex organisations
Experience of working with or for local government at a senior level
✅ Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills ️
✅ Strong political awareness and the credibility to work with Government, partners and councillors
✅ Confidence to navigate ambiguity, make decisions at pace, and lead with integrity
✅ A passion for public service, equality, and building a more inclusive future
