Key Responsibilities

  • Lead large-scale advisory projects for life insurance clients, ensuring delivery of high-quality outcomes
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior client executives and decision-makers
  • Manage and inspire multi-disciplinary project teams, providing clear direction and mentorship
  • Shape project strategy, offering expert insight across technical, commercial, and regulatory matters
  • Drive business development activities including proposals, pitches, and thought leadership
  • Support talent development within the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning

  • Financial and regulatory reporting oversight and enhancement
  • Capital and risk management frameworks and governance
  • Operating model design and efficiency improvements
  • Strategic planning and commercial performance analysis
  • Model governance, validation, and risk assessment
  • Leading M&A advisory, due diligence, and post-deal integration support

Key Requirements

  • Extensive experience within the UK life insurance sector at a senior or Associate Director level
  • Proven track record of leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects or strategic initiatives
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with senior client executives
  • Background in consulting or senior in-house roles with a focus on life insurance
  • Ability to manage large teams and deliver complex projects on time and budget

Desirable experience

  • Advanced model risk and model governance expertise
  • Actuarial or financial model review, validation, and challenge
  • Liquidity risk management, analysis, and stress testing
  • Extensive involvement in M&A due diligence, integration, or carve-outs
  • In-depth knowledge of Solvency II, IFRS 17, or internal capital models
  • Strong data, analytics, and technology experience within insurance
  • Leading delivery of complex transformation programs in UK Life Insurance

Work Environment

  • Hybrid working model (mix of office, home, and client site as needed)
  • Can be based in London, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow
