ROLE SUMMARY AND OVERVIEW:

Our client is a leading mid market IB, which is looking for an exceptional Assistant Director to join its generalist M&A team to help to accelerate its growth ambitions, particularly in relation to cross sector private M&A transactions. The role will include:

  • Managing the execution of M&A transactions, including takeovers, acquisitions, divestitures and other related activities.
  • Pitching specific M&A ideas to clients.
  • Reviewing and preparing financial and valuation models in relation to potential transactions.
  • Working with sector and sponsor coverage teams.
  • Drafting and providing input to relevant transaction documents.
  • Taking responsibility for key internal M&A processes.
  • Taking a significant role in the training and development of junior team members

Key capabilities and knowledge:

The best candidate will have good experience in  M&A transactions, strong project management skills, good communication and team skills and a strongly analytical mindset.

The Assistant Director will have the following attributes:

  • A minimum of a 2.1 degree or equivalent from a top university
  • 4+ years’ M&A experience from an investment bank, boutique or accountancy firm
  • Strong numerical, analytical and project management skills
  • Demonstrable drive and determination – a self-starter
  • Competitive nature, demonstrable high achiever
  • Strong work ethic
  • Strong inter-personal skills
