As Managing Director leading the Bellrock’s Building Assets and Compliance teams, you will lead the strategic growth, operational delivery, and commercial performance of fabric assets, M&E assets, building compliance and fire consulting services for public and private sector clients across London and the South East. This role will ensure the team is positioned as a trusted partner, delivering high-value assets and compliance projects to provide customers with expertise and peach of mind.

Strategic Leadership & Business Growth
- Develop and implement a long-term strategy for growth for the buildings assets and compliance teams, aligned with Bellrock Consulting’s shared vision strategy and customer value proposition.
- Drive growth across all service lines including asset surveying, compliance, and fire safety through innovation, market insight, and client demand.
- Set growth targets and ensure market expansion through organic development and integration of assets and compliances teams in any acquired businesses.
Client & Market Development
- Build and nurture relationships with key clients, acting as a senior advisor on compliance, asset management, and fire safety issues.
- Represent Bellrock at industry events, panels, and technical forums to strengthen market presence and thought leadership.
- Develop strategic partnerships with regulatory bodies, professional associations, and technology providers.
- Ensure proactive, transparent communication with clients around delivery performance, compliance issues, and technical risk.
Commercial & Financial Accountability
- Hold full P&L responsibility for the assets and compliance teams, including budgeting, forecasting, financial performance, and reporting.
- Identify new market opportunities and support bid development for major public and private sector contracts.
- Review commercial models and pricing strategies to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
- Develop and monitor performance dashboards and reporting to drive data-informed decision-making.
Operational Management
- Lead operational delivery across multi-disciplinary teams delivering asset services, compliance services and compliance services.
- Establish clear service delivery standards, SLAs, and KPIs to ensure consistent performance, quality, and client satisfaction.
- Embed robust project management and resource allocation processes to support scalable, high-quality service delivery.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on service quality, risk mitigation, and efficiency.
People Leadership & Organisational Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary team of surveyors, fire safety professionals, compliance consultants, and support staff.
- Foster a culture of performance, accountability, and inclusive leadership.
- Build and sustain internal capability through workforce planning, succession management, and professional development.
- Promote staff wellbeing, hybrid working best practice, and diversity and inclusion.
Compliance, Safety & Risk Management
- Ensure the division complies with all relevant legal, statutory, and industry standards across health and safety, building compliance, and HRB requirements.
- Maintain oversight of accreditations and professional certifications (e.g., UKAS, IFE, NICEIC, etc.).
- Champion a culture of safety, compliance, and ethical practice across all activities and supply chains.
- Lead on risk management strategies, especially around statutory compliance, fire risk, and dutyholder responsibilities.
Digital Transformation & Innovation
- Work closely with Bellrock’s technology teams to drive the digitalisation of asset data capture, compliance reporting, and client dashboards.
- Ensure effective and disciplined adoption of digital solutions for timesheeting and cost allocation for fee earning work.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work in partnership with other Consulting MDs, Intelligent Asset Care, Critical Engineering, Technologies, Sales, Commercial, People, Finance, and IT/Digital leads to identify and support business growth opportunities across Bellrock.
- Serve as a member of the Consulting Senior Leadership Team, contributing to strategic planning and business growth discussions.
What does it take?

- Deep and current knowledge of the UK built environment, particularly in relation to:
- Building asset management (fabric and M&E)
- Statutory compliance frameworks including CDM 2015, asbestos regulations, building regulations, and higher-risk building legislation (e.g., Building Safety Act 2022)
- Fire safety regulations including PAS 79, BS 9991/9999, and Fire Safety (England) Regulations
- Understanding of asset lifecycle planning, surveying techniques, fire strategy development, and compliance risk management.
- Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Building Surveying, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Fire Safety, Health & Safety, Facilities Management)
- Chartered status desirable (e.g., MRICS, CIBSE, IFE, IOSH, or equivalent)
- Strong grasp of business planning, financial management (P&L), pricing models, and contract performance.
- Robust working knowledge of health and safety legislation, risk assessments, and the management of high-risk environments

Working arrangements
We embrace smarter working practices which offer our employees the opportunity to work their hours flexibly and remotely where their roles and business needs allow. In this role, the successful candidate would be required to work from the London Paddington office and working two days a week with the team and the rest of the week can be worked from home.
