⭐️ Managing Director

Birmingham (Hybrid 3-4x pw)

£120,000 + Perks



Our client is a heritage brand with deep cultural roots and a unique product range. With listings in all four major retailers and increasing demand across channels, the business is now poised for scale under new ownership. We are looking for a hands-on, operationally-minded Managing Director to lead the next phase of growth — modernising the factory, building systems, improving margins, and developing a high-performing culture across the business.



Role & Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership

  • Lead all manufacturing and production operations to improve output, quality, and consistency.
  • Modernise factory operations and address inefficiencies.

Strategic Growth & Execution

  • Build and execute a practical 2–3 year transformation plan for the business.
  • Prioritise investment and resources around products and channels with the highest potential.

Commercial Oversight

  • Oversee commercial performance including margins, pricing, and product mix.
  • Work with the existing commercial team to support key account development.

Team & Culture

  • Lead, structure, and empower the leadership team.
  • Ensure the right people are in the right roles, with clear expectations and support.



What’s on Offer?

  • Salary: £120k
  • Car Allowance: £7,000
  • Bonus: up to 20%
  • Holiday Days: 25 + Bank Holidays (8)




Do you have the following to apply?

  • Proven experience as a Managing Director, COO, or equivalent senior leadership role in food/FMCG/manufacturing.
  • Deep understanding of production and operations — not afraid to be on-site, on the line, or in the detail.
  • Track record of driving efficiency, profitability, and operational turnaround.
  • Experience working in SME or scaling businesses with resource constraints.
  • Commercially and financially astute — able to read a P&L and act decisively.
  • Natural leadership qualities — decisive, action-oriented, calm under pressure.
  • Strong values and emotional intelligence — able to motivate, challenge, and build trust.
