The Company
We’re representing a well-established and growing M&E contractor with an ambitious vision to expand their temporary site services and electrics division. The business has a strong reputation for quality, safety, and technical excellence – and now seeks a proven leader to take this arm of the company to the next level.
The Role
As Director of Temporary Site Services, you’ll be responsible for developing, implementing, and driving the business strategy for the temporary electrics and site services division. This is a senior, strategic position overseeing all aspects of the operation from business development and client relationships, through to project delivery, compliance, and team leadership.
You’ll have the autonomy to shape the division, grow its client base, build the team, and deliver high-performing projects across London and the South East.
Key Responsibilities:
* Set the strategic vision and growth plan for the division, aligning with wider company objectives.
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities: tenders, partnerships, and key client acquisitions.
* Lead and develop a team of operations managers, engineers, and estimators.
* Oversee full project delivery – design, tender, installation, and maintenance of temporary power, lighting, distribution systems, and welfare solutions.
* Ensure all services meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and quality.
* Drive operational efficiency, manage budgets, and maintain cost control.
* Implement performance metrics and continuous improvement strategies.
* Stay ahead of the curve with new technologies (energy-efficient systems, smart monitoring, etc.) to maintain competitive advantage.
About You
* Proven leadership experience at Director, Operations Director, or Head of Division level within the temporary site services, electrical contracting, or M&E sector.
* Strong track record of business growth, increasing turnover, and building successful teams.
* Excellent technical knowledge of temporary site electrics, power, lighting, and distribution systems.
* Experienced in tendering, estimating, contract negotiation, and client relationship management.
* Strong commercial acumen – budgeting, forecasting, and margin improvement.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
* A commitment to safety, compliance, and quality at every level.
* Based in or around London / South East, with flexibility to visit sites as required.
