National Priority Programme Director - Mental Health Join to apply for the National Priority Programme Director - Mental Health role at NHS England Our National Priority Programme Director for Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Neurodevelopmental Conditions provides senior, credible and visible leadership to the department and system on these topics – setting clear delivery priorities, breaking down silos and driving improvement across services that support people with mental health needs, a learning disability and people who are neurodiverse. Responsibilities
Set the strategic direction for mental health, learning disabilities and neurodevelopmental conditions in line with Ministerial expectations and translate into robust delivery plans. Act as the Secretary of State’s key advisor, engage regularly with the Secretary of State, wider ministerial teams and other areas of government such as DWP, Home Office, Department for Education and Cabinet Office. Develop strong partnerships to drive forward delivery of programmes across the system, spend time speaking to systems to understand risks, support change and use ‘soft’ levers to improve quality and performance. Report to the NHS Chief Executive and advise Ministers on national priorities. Lead transformation, design an effective approach to delivering national priorities in Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Neurodevelopmental Conditions and redesign organisational operating model with focus on efficiency savings.
