OUR GROUNDWORTHY MISSION
Our Operational Deal Services team advises clients on operational aspects of transactions, helping maximize their value. We support clients with designing and implementing organization-wide change programs that create lasting impact beyond the deal. We pride ourselves on providing insights throughout the deal lifecycle, becoming transformation partners and trusted advisors for our clients.
We work with corporate and private equity clients in financial services, including specialist lending, insurance (carriers and brokers), and investment management. Our projects range from owner-managed business sales to billion-pound mergers. Our core services include carve-outs and separations, synergy assessments, integrations, operational due diligence, and post-deal operational improvements.
As part of the Business Consulting team, we collaborate with experts across IT, HR, Finance, and Operations, often working internationally. We partner with other Grant Thornton firms worldwide to deliver comprehensive solutions.

A look into the role
As an Associate Director in our Operational Deal Services team, you will:
- Lead client relationships and project delivery, including meetings, workshops, and report presentations
- Analyze complex information to identify business issues and develop solutions
- Create a positive team environment and demonstrate leadership
- Prepare proposals and pitches, leveraging your network to generate new opportunities
- Promote cross-selling of services within Grant Thornton
- Support training and development of team members
- Assist with departmental operations, initiatives, and budget management
Knowing you're right for us
The minimum requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Experience in two or more core Operational Deal Services offerings, with focus on specific sub-sectors
- Leadership experience in fast-paced environments
- Experience in professional services or advisory roles on transactions
- Strong report writing, analysis, and presentation skills
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Project/change management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel
Additional desirable skills include foreign language proficiency, finance or accountancy qualifications, and program management certifications.
