Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Implement transformational strategies to deliver on our Purpose Driven Strategy through the long range plans as an active member of the site leadership team
Full responsibility of the operation budget and KPI’s, devolved to all direct reports
Design and implement plans for the effective use of material and labour resources to achieve manufacturing targets
Manage the operations of manufacturing personnel to ensure manufacturing process is within budget and time schedule
Oversee the hiring, orienting, and training of all employees to ensure a competent workforce
Ensure operations are in compliance with Quality, health & safety and environmental standards
Drive sustainability to meet organizational and regional goals
Schedule the maintenance of production equipment and machines to ensure efficient operations
Analyze and provide solutions to manufacturing / Supply/chain challenges or problems through the Griffith continuous improvement resource
Assessments mechanical and procedural limitations that minimize work efficiency working with the quality and engineering departments
Assess current maintenance work processes, to optimize efficiency, oversee, manage maintenance procedures and operations
Drive supply chain efficiencies & innovation through internal and external expertise to meet the changing future environment
Oversee planning, procurement and implementing logistical strategy, ensuring targets are met as per long range plan
Oversee product storage, handling and distribution internally and externally
Monitor and control production processes enabling operational flexibility in the event of a problem
Collaborate with marketing, PD&I and sales to develop strategies aimed at improving the marketability of manufactured products
Oversee the procurement of raw materials and equipment required for manufacturing
Monitor performance and develop a strong succession plan at all levels
Working closely with VP Supply Chain & Manufacturing to ensure contract manufacturers are compliant with the company’s quality standards and meet our capacity requirements as well as sharing best practices among sites and define the SC of the future
Implement and leverage new technologies, automation, lean manufacturing and stay alert to new trends in the sector
Promote cross functional cooperation and resolve conflict
Develop and/or refine reporting systems, procedures and operational controls, in conjunction with the General Manager to enable effective management of the business and delivery of results
Provide guidance to departmental managers in support of the annual review process with alignment of objectives
Conduct any general duties, specific projects and responsibilities (as assigned or required by the General Manager) in a timely and professional manner
Actively participate in company, staff or individual one-on-one meetings on an on-going basis for the purposes of effective teamwork, enhanced communication and progressive co-operation strategies with all departments across the company to ensure company objectives are met.
Represents Griffith Foods externally in a professional manner with all customers, suppliers, government agencies, professional associations as well as internally with all Griffith Foods employees and colleagues
Knowledge And/or Experience Requirements
Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in Manufacturing Operation, Supply chain, Organization & People Management.
Relevant managerial qualifications
A customer-focused, hands-on leader with experience in building and sustaining strong pier level external relationships with key suppliers as well as coaching the organization internally to drive performance.
Lean and/or Six Sigma education is desirable
Supply Chain education is desirable
Demonstrated success in organizational end to end supply chain capacity building, including fiscal management and budgeting, managing relations with internal & external customers
Strong project management skills managing complex, multi-faceted projects and successfully operationalizing innovative programs resulting in measurable successes and program growth
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent analytical, interpersonal, organizational and cross-cultural skills
