As AECOM’s Operations Director for the a major energy infrastructure programme, you will have direct accountability for the financial performance of the business unit within the Environment + Energy (E+E) business line in the UK&I region. This programme comprises a portfolio of projects being delivered under a unified framework and includes employees fully allocated to its delivery. At peak delivery, the programme is expected to generate $20–30m Net Revenue (NSR) annually, with individual projects ranging in value up to $20m+.Working closely with the E+E Operations Director, Energy Business Unit Director, Energy Operations Director, and programme leadership, you will drive performance by mitigating risks and maximising opportunities to grow and continuously improve the programmes key performance metrics - Net Revenue, Labour Contribution %, EBITA %, Operating Cash Flow, and Enterprise Capabilities Hours as a % of Direct Labour Hours.Due to the programme leadership being based in Birmingham, there is an expectation for this role to require regular travel to Birmingham on a weekly basis.Key Responsibilities:Ethics & Compliance | Implementing and ensuring compliance with AECOM Ethics & Compliance policies and procedures.SH&E | Lead by example by visibly driving SH&E culture and ensuring effective implementation of SH&E policies and procedures.Technical Excellence & Quality | Act as a technical excellence champion and work closely with the Energy digital lead, alongside programme leadership to ensure the right client solutions, are delivered on time, cost, and to professional, quality, and legislative standards every time.Financial Plan | Responsible for developing and implementing the programme financial plan and outlook with Energy and E+E leadership.Business Performance | Achievement of the annual financial business plan and outlook; continuously monitor actual performance vs the plan / outlook and taking proactive action to mitigate issues and maximise opportunities.Bidding | Support the WAP/WAF pricing process within the programme by contributing directly to the development and execution of scopes of work alongside the commercial manager.Risk & Opportunities Management | Develop a culture within programme where both risks and opportunities to EBITA and cash flow are proactively identified, assessed, and managed.Project Governance | Ensure control of project delivery through the implementation of consistent and effective Healthy Starts, Contract, Bid and Project reviews, Risk Management, and achievement of project data quality metrics.Project Manager Development | Work with E+E Operations to ensure effective training is in place to develop confident, and commercially and operationally astute project directors and managers.Commercial Management | Responsible for proactively identifying and rectifying problem projects and working with the E+E and programme Commercial team to drive effective and consistent change management processes and resolve commercial disputes with clients.Sources of Revenue | Responsible for the maintaining the accuracy of the Sources of Revenue for the programme - by ensuring that all task orders are accurately recorded in Salesforce at all times, and live projects have the correct NSR backlog, forecast end dates, and phasing profiles.Resourcing Strategy | Support the E+E Resourcing Lead with the development and implementation of an appropriate sustainable resourcing strategy for the programme e.g. through internal workshare, EC centres, timesheet contractors, and permanent hires.SG&A Control | Proactively control and manage non labour SG&A costs such as travel, recruitment fees, and indirect procurement.QualificationsReady to push the limits of what’s possible?
