My client, a highly successful specialist insurance organisation based on the outskirts of Swindon, is seeking an Operations Director to lead and optimise their operational performance during a pivotal period of growth.

This is a hands-on, visible leadership role, managing a team of around 40 people and working closely with senior leaders across multiple functions. The business has seen consistent organic growth and recently entered a new phase of strategic expansion, backed by a major international group.

You’ll play a key role in shaping how the organisation continues to scale, ensuring its systems, processes and people evolve to support future ambitions.

The Role

• Oversee day-to-day operations across a growing professional services business

• Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement, automation and smart process design

• Partner with functional leads across sales, finance, compliance, claims and marketing to streamline collaboration

• Lead on operational planning, performance measurement and data-driven decision-making

• Support strategic initiatives such as systems implementation, digital transformation and potential integration of acquisitions

• Build, develop and inspire a team of around 40, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture

About You

• Proven track record in senior operational leadership, ideally within professional services, financial services, insurance, or other complex, process-driven sectors

• Experienced in process improvement, operational strategy and data-led decision making

• Adept at leading through change and growth, with a people-first approach

• Skilled at influencing cross-functional teams and working at both strategic and hands-on levels

• Tech-savvy, with a strong grasp of modern operational tools and systems

• A proactive, commercially minded leader who enjoys empowering teams and driving results
