Overview
The Job:
We are delighted to be assisting our client with their requirements for a Part Time Business & Finance Director to join them on a maternity cover contract. This is an exciting business and great time to be joining them to oversee their key business and finance functions while providing dedicated support to the MD and managing key members of staff.
Key responsibilities within this role will responsible
- Management of cashflow, sales forecast and budgets
- Creation of monthly management accounts
- Issue of trade receivable invoices
- Approval of trade payable invoices
- Authorisation and payment of payroll
- Completing quarterly UK and French VAT returns
- Assisting accountants with annual accounts
- Oversight of annual R&D claims with external specialist support
- Management of external bookkeeping support
- Oversight of business development strategy, ensuring alignment with marketing strategy
- Sales probability tracking and forecasting to inform financial planning
- Management and performance oversight of the Business Development Manager
- Oversight of marketing activities to support business development and brand positioning
- Ensuring consistency of messaging across all marketing channels
- Management of external marketing support staff
- Primary point of contact for external HR support providers
- Oversight of HR policies, compliance, and employee relations in collaboration with external HR advisors
- Support in recruitment, onboarding and offboarding
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements across all operating regions, liaising with legal and compliance advisors
For this role our client is seeking an experienced Business & Finance Director who is seeking a part time role in Bristol and who is happy to commit to a maternity cover contract. You will have gained CIMA or ACCA (or studying towards one of these qualifications).
In addition to this they are also seeking someone who has:
- Strong experience with Xero and financial operations, including invoicing, payroll, budgeting, and reporting
- Solid understanding of VAT procedures and returns (UK and France)
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams, including direct reports and external partners
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Discreet and professional, with a commitment to confidentiality
- Self-motivated and proactive, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving
- English fluency required; French language skills desirable
£65-70,000 pro-rata
