PropSource Consulting is working with a leading national consultancy to appoint a Town Planning Director – Infrastructure & Renewables (Birmingham & Midlands) to lead and grow their infrastructure practice across the Midlands. This is a unique opportunity to take charge of high-profile energy and infrastructure projects while establishing and mentoring a high-performing team in Birmingham.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a Midlands-based team focused on infrastructure and energy planning.
• Oversee a varied portfolio covering renewables, hydrogen, energy storage, carbon capture, transport, water, waste, and ports.
• Drive business development and strengthen relationships with clients across Birmingham, the wider Midlands, and nationally.
• Take a senior role in succession planning for the consultancy’s national infrastructure practice.
• Collaborate with colleagues across different technical disciplines to deliver integrated solutions on complex schemes.

About You

• A strong track record in energy and infrastructure projects, ideally including DCO, NSIP or TWAO consents.
• Proven leadership experience building, developing, and mentoring teams.
• RTPI membership and excellent knowledge of planning processes.
• Strong commercial awareness and client management skills.
• The confidence to lead on significant, high-profile projects.
