Pre Construction Director role at Wates Group

We have a fantastic opportunity for an established Pre-Construction Director to join our Advanced Manufacturing Construction team on a national basis with a hub based in our Sunderland office.

As a Senior Business Lead in Wates Construction, this role provides the accountability to shape, grow and develop the pre-construction strategy with the support of the newly formed leadership team. The role includes leading the work-winning pre-construction process from pre-bid through to the successful conversion of the second stage, and ensuring governance and process alignment to enable the business unit to achieve the sales budget. The position also supports business development to strengthen future pipeline and actively participates in external networking. This is an exciting time to grow our strategy, engage and motivate teams to deliver well-executed and considered bids.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead value-added customer relationships and management leading to ongoing work
• Manage stakeholders effectively in collaboration with our wider group and framework teams
• Demonstrate a passion for work winning
• Apply a detailed strategic approach through to execution in both work winning and PCSA conversion
• Lead by example, support and upskill the team, driving continuous improvement in performance
• Demonstrate resilience and adaptability to meet business and customer needs
• Win bids on projects between 50-500m
• Maintain a portfolio evidencing successful bids and growing sales
• Deliver excellent presentations
• Drive a winning mindset with a strong team spirit
