We’re looking for an experienced and strategic leader to take on the role ofPremium Finance Directorwithin Howden Retail UK & Ireland. This is a key position responsible for shaping and delivering our premium finance strategy, ensuring it supports our commercial goals while meeting regulatory and customer expectations.
What you’ll be doing:
Leading the development and execution of our premium finance strategy across multiple regions and business areas.
Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure our premium finance offering is aligned with client needs and market opportunities.
Managing relationships with finance providers and overseeing the technical delivery of our premium finance solutions.
Keeping a close eye on market trends, regulatory developments, and financial performance to ensure we remain competitive and compliant.
Supporting our sales and operational teams with expert insight and guidance.
Leading a small team and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
Managing supplier relationships and negotiating terms where needed.
What we’re looking for:
A strong strategic thinker with a solid grasp of finance, economics, and the insurance sector.
Experience in premium finance or a closely related area, ideally with exposure to regulatory frameworks such as SMCR.
A track record of delivering long-term strategic initiatives and adapting them over time.
Confident working with senior stakeholders and presenting complex information clearly.
Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong leadership skills and a collaborative approach to working across teams.
This is a certified role under SMCR, with delegated responsibility from the CEOs for compliance and regulatory outcomes related to premium finance .
