Pricing Director

We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Pricing Director who will lead the transformation of the organisation’s pricing function, shaping its strategy and governance to deliver sustainable value and competitive advantage. This role is accountable for designing and embedding the pricing framework and associated technological enablers, ensuring pricing decisions are strategic, data-driven and commercially astute.

The ideal candidate will combine deep pricing expertise with exceptional influencing and relationship-building skills to drive cultural change and stakeholder alignment across the business.

This role will have the mandate and resources to shape the pricing function from the ground up, influencing decisions that drive long-term growth. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role where strategic thinking meets real-world commercial results.

Typical Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Transformation

  • Define and deliver the Pricing Strategy aligned to organisational strategy, goals and market dynamics.
  • Lead the transformation of the pricing function, including capability building, process redesign, competitor benchmarking and technology enablement.
  • Establish and embed a Pricing Governance Framework, ensuring transparency, consistency, and accountability in decision-making.
  • Design, implement, and maintain robust pricing models and tools to enable optimal commercial decisions.
  • Set principles for value-based pricing, customer segmentation, and margin optimisation.
  • Introduce and embed best practices from across industries, ensuring scalability and agility in the pricing approach.

Stakeholder Engagement & Influence

  • Partner with executive leadership, sales, finance, product, and marketing teams to align on pricing strategy. Build trusted relationships at all levels, acting as a credible advisor and change leader.
  • Lead cross-functional forums to ensure coordinated, insight-led pricing decisions.

Assurance & Risk Management

  • Establish controls and assurance processes to manage pricing risks, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness.
  • Monitor and assess the commercial and operational impact of pricing policies.
  • Provide independent challenge to ensure pricing decisions balance revenue growth, profitability, and market positioning.

Performance & Insights

  • Drive the development of and use data analytics to assess price performance, customer behaviour, market trends and competitor benchmarking.
  • Report on pricing effectiveness and drive opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive continuous improvement through insight, testing, measurement, and iterative refinement.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven track record in leading pricing strategy, frameworks, and governance at a senior level.
  • Experience driving organisational transformation in a pricing, commercial, or revenue management function.
  • Strong relationship management and influencing skills, with the ability to gain buy-in from diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable assurance and risk management experience, ideally in a regulated or complex environment.
  • Commercial acumen with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex pricing concepts into actionable insights.
  • Industry experience in Manufacturing (desirable)
  • Exposure to technology and data platforms supporting pricing and commercial decision-making.
  • Knowledge of regulatory considerations related to pricing in relevant markets.

This is a hybrid role, with 2-3 days per week based in our Kidlington office.
