Our Private Client Team manages the tax affairs of private equity funds, unincorporated businesses, trusts, individuals and their wider families including working with many successful entrepreneurs. You’ll build strong client relationships and oversee their tax affairs in line with their goals.

Responsibilities

  • Looking after a portfolio of high-net-worth clients with complex needs, delivering a client-centric service in collaboration with the directors and partners.
  • Control of WIP, recoveries and billing; identifying and developing new opportunities.
  • Provide private client and trust compliance and advisory services to a wide range of clients using resources from a shared service team.
  • Engage with lawyers, financial advisers and other intermediaries to build relationships and introduce new work.
  • Identify and manage risks to the firm arising from client engagement.
  • Guide and supervise less experienced colleagues; support, mentor and advise others; challenge current practice to drive improvements.
  • Take personal responsibility for decisions and actions; lead projects of varying scale and complexity.
  • Educated to degree level and CTA and/or ACA qualified or equivalent.

As part of your role you will be involved in

  • Looking after a portfolio of high-net-worth clients with complex needs and anticipating their needs, delivering a client-centric service.
  • Control of WIP, recoveries and billing; advising on tax matters including succession planning and restructuring; reviewing complex UK tax computations and returns.
  • Developing and maintaining client relationships to ensure the firm’s continued confidence from clients.
  • Identifying risk, technical matters and business development opportunities to the Partner, within agreed parameters.
  • Ensuring the firm’s quality control procedures are adhered to.

Requirements

  • In-depth, up-to-date knowledge of taxation with experience advising high net worth individuals, their families and wealth protection structures.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of clients, including client take-on, engagement, billing and opportunity identification.
  • Ability to provide private client and trust advisory services with support from a shared service team.
  • Experience engaging with external professionals to build relationships and generate new work.
  • Understanding of potential risks to the firm arising from client engagement.
  • Ability to guide and supervise colleagues; train and mentor others; drive improvements and change.
  • Strong personal responsibility and project leadership.
