The BDO US-led private client practice focuses on the key US market, addressing the complexities of US tax compliance for US persons worldwide. We serve entrepreneurs and families with foreign structures, trusts, pensions, and investments, offering a unique advisory service that combines US expertise with UK and other international requirements.

Our growing Private Client Team manages funds, businesses, and trusts for individuals, families, and entrepreneurs. Working here means building strong relationships and becoming a trusted advisor, overseeing clients’ tax affairs aligned with their personal and business goals.

We have a global network recognized for supporting UHNW individuals and owner-managed businesses. You’ll need excellent interpersonal skills and strong technical expertise to serve clients worldwide. Responsibilities:

1. Leading client relationships with proactive advisory and an adaptable approach
2. Delivering detailed US/UK written advisory memos on topics such as residency planning, succession, trusts, and pensions
3. Utilizing UK/US treaties effectively
4. Planning solutions for complex foreign tax credits
5. Winning new work and building a reputation in the marketplace
6. Collaborating with lawyers, wealth advisors, and other professionals supporting UHNW clients with US tax issues
7. Filing complex UK and US tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1040NR, 3520, 5471, 8858, 8865
8. Presenting on US PCS tax topics internally and externally
9. Building collaborative relationships across teams
10. Training and developing junior team members in US advisory skills
11. Supporting continuous improvement in team efficiencies and strategic offerings
12. Developing the US/UK Private Client practice
13. Finding practical solutions and persevering through challenging work

Requirements:

• US Enrolled Agent (EA) and ATT qualifications minimum
• Extensive US and UK private client experience with UHNW families
• Proven ability to deliver written advisory reports
• Experience managing complex projects involving US and foreign tax matters
• Passion for impactful work within a dynamic team
• Authenticity and recognition of individual contributions
• Adherence to agile working practices
• Advisory experience in HNW teams preferred
